Olga Liutova-Amplatz was born in Rostov-Don Russia, where she started learning the first painting techniques.

Hi Olga! Tell us a few words about yourself. Do you just do art, or is art just part of the picture?
Olga: Art is a part of my life.
Was there a pivotal moment when you decided to follow your path as an artist?
Olga: Moving to Italy was the beginning of my professional career.
What is a day of working like in your studio? Do you have any rituals that help you get motivated or in “the zone”?
Olga: Every morning I open the door of my studio, squeeze paint onto the palette, start painting a new picture, or continue painting an already begun. I always listen to what my soul says.
Do you have any rituals that help you get motivated or in “the zone’’?
Olga: The biggest motivator for me is nature!
You say your main influences are Tiziano Vecelli, Giotto, Rembrandt, Tintoretto, Beat Angelico. Why these artists? What is it about their art that influences your work?
Olga: They, and not only they, were virtuosos of their craft!
Which artist of the past would you most like to meet, and why?
Olga: I wanted to meet with Nikolai Feshin. He is a genius!
In reflecting back to the start of your artistic endeavor, what is the most useful advice you ever received?
Olga: I was not given advice.
What was the recent piece you’ve enjoyed working on the most, and why?
Olga: I love all my works, but the Girl with the Apple is the dearest to me. She has the whole Russian soul.
You’ve had some very successful exhibitions. If you could choose your favorite one, which one would it be, and why?
Olga: The most memorable exhibition, Dreams of Russia, In it I embodied everything I had conceived.
Could you share some of the stories behind your work?
Olga: An interesting story happened with my painting “An Angel in Silence”. In the baguette workshop, the worker who made it into the baguette was crying. She made such a strong impression on her!
What is the best way to reach people that are interested in your art?
Olga: The Internet is the best way to make yourself known.
