My name is Kasia and I’m the founder & creator of House of Ideas.
It is a small & passionate freelance business, where I design and create my customers’ vision. I offer a modern, fresh, and creative approach, along with professional & affordable services.
I believe in passion and am truly dedicated to what I do.
As a business, my main objective is to ensure that clients are satisfied with the work produced and to meet or even exceed your expectations.
My mission is to deliver innovative solutions that allow you to achieve your goals.
My goal is to build a relationship with clients, based on trust and reliability. I want to promote my business name as well in order to increase brand awareness in Jersey Channel Island.
I would like to evolve from a freelancer and run my own small agency in a near future, where I can work with overseas customers as well and build new relationships in order to grow.
Also, building an agency will allow me to invest in talent and help with the progress of others whilst focusing on doing what I do best.
Hello Kasia! When did you begin designing and how did you get started?
Kasia: Over the past six years I have been working in Marketing on a variety of exciting projects which involved both sides of this particular field, digital & traditional. It was during this period that I realised that design is definitely my favourite and the strongest area, which is what inspired me to form House of Ideas in April 2018.
What did you want to become when you were a child?
Kasia: I was very creative as a child and had interests in art, design & fashion, so I was always seeing myself working in artistic & creative environment. I’m also left handed what apparently affects your artistic side as well.
Tell us about your artwork, medium, style, subject matter etc.
Kasia: My work is very varied as I cover many aspects of graphic design, such as web & logo design stationary artwork, graphic CV and more. I’ve also recently got very much into 3D design & Pop Art, where I constantly learn, progress and improve my skills in order to design more sophisticated artwork and also have a better understanding on both subjects. I love to evolve and there’re so many aspects of design I haven’t even touched yet which doesn’t mean that I won’t in the near future.
What is the most challenging part about your art?
Kasia: As a freelancer I do everything by myself what means that it can get intense, hard & challenging sometimes, therefore being well organized it’s a very important part of my job as much as being creative.
What is the process from start to a final artwork, do you envision it from the beginning or is it a different process?
Kasia: The process is never structured as I don’t follow any patterns. If I have a clear vision I tend to stick to it and won’t stop working on it until I receive desired results. At other times the final draft will be completely different to the initial idea which can be caused simply by changing a concept by either client or myself; or testing what it’s working and what it’s not. Either way, I always get there at the end.
Do you ever experience creative blocks? And if yes, how do you overcome it?
Kasia: Yes I do, sometimes I need an inspiration in order to come up with the concept, so I do a research on the latest trends and look for new ideas as well.
What is your most recent design that you have enjoyed working on the most?
Kasia: I love branding for small companies and I had a pleasure to do one recently for a beauty services. It feels very personal as it’s much about brand’s perception and representation as well. I can combine so many elements such as concept, design & mission of the brand. It’s basically giving an identity to a newborn business. I truly enjoy it.
Do you have a real-life situation that inspired your artwork? If yes, what was it?
Kasia: I wouldn’t say a real-life situation perhaps, but my passion for musician Prince, has certainly inspired me to create a few pieces themed by him and even color purple. As Prince I love changes too and don’t follow any rules either, what truly inspires me. That’s what real art should be about, a total freedom in expressing yourself. If you have a natural talent & flair for something, there’s nothing that can stop you from succeeding at it. He never could read the music, yet he was one of the finest instrumentalist & musicians of all time, self-taught as well. He was such a genius, inspiration and legend.
What artists influenced you the most and why?
Kasia: Andy Warhol, I love his innovative idea, modern approach and vibrant work. As I’ve already mentioned I’ve been really trying to explore Pop Art myself and Andy Warhol has a big impact on some of my designs.
How has your design evolved over the years?
Kasia: My skills & knowledge have evolved a lot since I set up the business, especially this year. During the lockdown I kept myself very busy and focused on learning & exploring new sides of design, so I definitely progressed massively.
What is the best way to reach people that are interested in your design?
Kasia: Social media plays a key role in reaching new audience as for most of business nowadays however, considering the fact I live in a very small island as Jersey, I also take advantage of an old-fashioned method such as simple word of mouth and recommendations as well.
Do you see your designs as serving a purpose beyond art?
Kasia: Yes, definitely! As a graphic designer I can offer a various services for different needs & requirements of my clients. That’s why it’s so important & beneficial to explore & learn new aspects of design in order to create & deliver different type of work.
